The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has sustained its counter-terrorism operations in Borno State with a fresh round of precision airstrikes targeting terrorist elements in the Jilli axis.
The strikes, carried out on April 11, 2026, by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, were part of follow-up mop-up operations aimed at neutralising fleeing insurgents and dismantling regrouping cells after an earlier successful engagement in the area.
According to a statement by the NAF, the operation was executed through coordinated air-ground efforts with the Nigerian Army, driven by credible intelligence and real-time surveillance. The mission specifically targeted remnants of terrorist groups attempting to exploit difficult terrain to evade security forces.
Military authorities noted that the follow-up strikes helped consolidate earlier gains, further degrading the operational capacity of insurgents and limiting their ability to launch attacks on both military positions and civilian communities.
The NAF explained that the sustained pressure highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-led joint operations in denying terrorists freedom of movement and enhancing security across the North-East.
The Air Force reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining persistent surveillance, precision targeting, and rapid response actions as part of ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in the region.
It also reiterated the Armed Forces’ resolve to protect lives and property while strengthening security across Borno State and the wider theatre of operations.
