Nigerian Navy in Swift Rescue Mission After Lagos Building Collapse

The Nigerian Navy has rescued several victims trapped in the aftermath of a building collapse at Alakija in Lagos State, following a swift emergency response.

According to a statement by the Director of Naval Information, Navy Captain A.A. Folorunsho, naval personnel responded immediately after receiving a distress call and joined other emergency agencies in the search and rescue operation.

Several victims were pulled alive from the rubble and rushed to the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital in Ojo, where they are receiving emergency treatment and ongoing medical care.

The Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral Idi Abbas has commended the courage and professionalism of the rescue team, as well as the medical personnel who attended to the victims.

He also praised the collaboration between emergency responders and members of the public, describing it as instrumental to the success of the rescue effort.

The Nigerian Navy has extended its condolences to families affected by the incident and wished those injured a speedy recovery. It also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting civil authorities with humanitarian assistance whenever the need arises.
