In a jaw-dropping development, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 93-year-old great-grandfather in Abia State as part of an ongoing nationwide crackdown on drug cartels.
The suspect, Pa Friday Ahukanna Chigbu, was apprehended at his residence, where 7.7kg of skunk was discovered during a raid.
NDLEA says the nonagenarian confessed to smoking cannabis since 1959 and shockingly, only turned it into a business a little over a year ago.
According to the NDLEA , the arrest sends a strong message that age is no barrier in Nigeria’s drug trade , and Authorities are ramping up intelligence-driven operations to dismantle networks fueling substance abuse across the country.
The case also highlights the deepening spread of drug trafficking and the urgent need for stronger awareness, prevention, and enforcement nationwide.
