He Sold Everything for a ₦100m Dream — NDLEA Arrests Businessman with Cocaine

A 48-year-old marble businessman, Nwankwo Innocent Onyebuchi, has seen his dream of quick riches come crashing down after NDLEA operatives arrested him with 1.550kg of cocaine at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

Onyebuchi was arrested at the departure hall while attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight to New Delhi, India.

The cocaine was allegedly concealed inside the side walls and railings of his travel bag, where it was factory-fitted to evade detection.

In a shocking confession, the suspect said he sold his marble business and other assets to raise ₦23 million to purchase the consignment, hoping to sell it in India for as much as ₦100 million.

Instead of the quick fortune he anticipated, his journey ended in arrest.
