Three Nabbed With 728kg of Skunk in Ondo as NDLEA Arrests US Returnee With Cannabis in Lagos

NDLEA operatives have arrested three suspected drug traffickers with 728 kilograms of skunk in Ondo State, while a US returnee was also arrested in Lagos after allegedly showing up to collect a consignment of Loud, a potent strain of cannabis.

The three suspects; 42-year-old Oyedele Daniel, 36-year-old Taye Saliu and 36-year-old Kehinde Saliu were arrested on Friday, August 28, 2026, along the Ipele-Idoani Road.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the agency Femi Babafemi, the suspects were intercepted in a truck marked KRE 120 XB, where NDLEA operatives recovered 728 kilograms of skunk.

In a separate operation at Aponmu Forest on Wednesday, August 26, operatives arrested 35-year-old Uche Joseph and 21-year-old Godwin Umeh, recovering another 341 kilograms of skunk.

The two operations brought the total quantity of skunk seized to 1,069 kilograms more than one tonne.

Meanwhile, in Lagos, a 31-year-old US returnee, Sowunmi David Oludotun, was arrested by NDLEA operatives on August 19 in the Ikate area of Lekki.

According to the agency, Oludotun was arrested after allegedly showing up to take delivery of 3.350 kilograms of Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis.

The arrests and seizures form part of the NDLEA’s ongoing operations targeting the trafficking and distribution of illicit drugs across the country.
