An ordinary-looking bottle of energy drink has led to the arrest of a 23-year-old man and the seizure of illicit drugs in Lagos.
NDLEA operatives recovered 61 grams of Colorado, a synthetic strain of cannabis, and 24 grams of methamphetamine concealed inside the bottle, which was sent as a waybill package on a commercial bus along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
A follow-up operation led to the arrest of Ekundayo Taiwo at Ladipo Spare Parts Market on Wednesday, September 30.
In a separate operation, NDLEA operatives also recovered 209,000 tablets of tramadol from an unoccupied compound at Divine Estate, Ago Palace, Lagos, during a raid on Monday, September 28.
The agency says the operations are part of its ongoing efforts to disrupt the trafficking and distribution of illicit drugs.
