The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has made the preliminary register of voters for the 2027 general election available online following concerns from Nigerians and other stakeholders over access to the register.
The Commission said the online publication would complement the physical display of the register conducted nationwide from October 9 to 15, 2026, in line with Section 19 of the Electoral Act, 2026.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Chairman of INEC’s Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, said the register could now be accessed through the Commission’s online platform at https://display.inecnigeria.org.
He explained that the decision was taken in response to calls for the register to be made available online in addition to the physical display at registration areas across the country.
According to INEC, the measure is intended to broaden public access to the preliminary register and strengthen transparency and confidence in the electoral process.
The Commission said it was continuing to process claims and objections arising from the physical display exercise in accordance with the Electoral Act, 2026.
It added that the exercise would pave the way for the certification and publication of the final register of voters on December 15, 2026, ahead of the 2027 general election.
INEC appreciated Nigerians and other stakeholders for their interest and engagement, reiterating its commitment to transparency, accountability and the implementation of the Electoral Act, 2026, in conducting credible elections.
