A Niger State High Court sitting in Minna has sentenced 27-year-old Hussaini Suleiman to seven years imprisonment for raping an eight-year-old girl.
Justice Binta Bawa convicted and sentenced Suleiman after he pleaded guilty to the offence.
The case was referred to the Niger State Command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) by the Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on April 16, 2026, following a report of the rape of the minor.
According to the case details, Suleiman admitted committing the offence at his residence behind the Prison Quarters in Minna, Niger State.
He was arraigned before Court 8 of the Niger State High Court, Minna, on September 10, 2026.
Following his guilty plea, the court sentenced him to seven years in prison.
