Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin, an ammunition courier and a suspected logistics supplier in separate operations across Kaduna State.
The operations, conducted on September 9, 2026, targeted terrorist hideouts and logistics networks in Kubau, Igabi and Birnin Gwari Local Government Areas of the state.
According to a statement by the Media Information Officer Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, in Kubau, troops of Sector One carried out a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, identified as a known terrorist hideout, where they arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin and two members of his syndicate.
The suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation.
In a separate operation in Igabi Local Government Area, troops acting on intelligence about the movement of terrorist ammunition intercepted a 50-year-old woman allegedly serving as an ammunition courier.
The suspect was reportedly found with 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag.
The statement added that preliminary investigations revealed that she had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
Later the same day, troops working with a community vigilante group arrested another suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari.
A search of the suspect reportedly led to the recovery of four communication devices suspected to have been used by terrorists.
The Joint Task Force said the operations demonstrate the continued efforts of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt terrorist networks, restrict their movement and prevent the flow of arms, ammunition and other logistics across the operational area.
The task force also commended members of the public for their support and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
