
The FCT Police Command has arrested seven suspects and recovered suspected cannabis, Tramadol and Codeine during a raid on a suspected drug-related location in Wuse 2, Abuja.
The operation, carried out on September 2, 2026, at Lobito Crescent, was conducted by operatives of the Maitama Division as part of the Command’s sustained crackdown on the sale, abuse and trafficking of illicit drugs across the Federal Capital Territory.
The suspects comprise six males and one female.
According to the FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspects were found with various illicit and controlled substances during the operation.
Items recovered included dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, packaged in small transparent sachets; several tablets of Tramadol; a bottle of Codeine; and a black polythene bag containing dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis sativa, among other substances.
The seven suspects remain in police custody and are expected to be charged to court after the completion of investigations.
The Police Command has also urged residents to shun drug abuse, trafficking and other criminal activities, while calling on members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons, activities or locations to the nearest police station.
