The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arraigned social media personality Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, and two alleged accomplices over the attempted export of 184.5 kilograms of cocaine valued at about ₦39 billion to the United Kingdom.

Afolabi was arraigned alongside Boniface Freeman Ochoche Sule and Ikechukwu Ekugo Patriarch before Justice Musa Kakaki of the Federal High Court, Lagos, on Friday, September 25, 2026.

The three defendants are facing a 22-count charge bordering on cocaine trafficking, illegal export of narcotic drugs and money laundering.

They all pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them.

According to the NDLEA in a statement by its Spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the defendants allegedly conspired between July 28 and August 1, 2026, with two other suspects, Atandare Oladipupo Oluwarotimi and Latifat Yusuf, who have already been arrested in London, to export the 184.5-kilogram cocaine consignment.

The agency said the cocaine was concealed in five consignments bearing different airway bill numbers and shipped through a Lagos-based courier logistics company to London.

The charge sheet alleges that Boniface procured Ikechukwu to facilitate the shipment, while Afolabi allegedly secured the services of a staff member of a logistics company on Lagos Island to process the consignments.

The NDLEA also alleged that Afolabi paid ₦13.2 million from a Zenith Bank account belonging to Mallamawa Ventures to the logistics company as consideration for the shipment.

Money laundering charges

Sixteen of the 22 counts relate to alleged money laundering.

The NDLEA accused Afolabi of allegedly moving several billions of naira through various companies and personal accounts, including Mallamawa Ventures, Fateey Man Multi-Purpose Nigeria Limited, Patonifa Limited, Ade-Lak Resources, Holmestas Global Services Limited and La Capital Enterprises.

The agency alleged that some of the funds were used to acquire vehicles and landed properties in an attempt to conceal the alleged proceeds of the illicit drug trade.

He was also accused of failing to declare his assets to the agency as required by law.

Afolabi, who was described as a luxury goods dealer and lifestyle influencer, was arrested by NDLEA operatives on August 13, 2026, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The agency said he was arrested while allegedly attempting to leave Nigeria on a business-class flight to Paris, following the interception of the 184.5-kilogram cocaine shipment.

A subsequent search of his Banana Island residence reportedly led to the recovery of exotic vehicles, foreign currencies and jewellery suspected to be proceeds of illicit trade.

After the defendants pleaded not guilty, their bail applications were argued before the court.

NDLEA prosecutor, Abu Ibrahim, opposed the applications and urged the court to remand the defendants, citing the gravity of the alleged offences.

Justice Kakaki ordered the defendants to be remanded in the NDLEA’s custody and adjourned the case until October 4, 2026, for ruling on the bail applications.
