A 38-year-old businesswoman, Iwebema Ogechi Peace, has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) after officers allegedly discovered 7.5kg of cocaine concealed in the false bottom of her luggage at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.
According to the NDLEA, the suspect, who claimed she regularly travels to China to purchase goods for sale in Nigeria, was intercepted while attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight to Beijing. Acting on credible intelligence, operatives searched her checked baggage and uncovered four large parcels of cocaine professionally hidden in a specially constructed false compartment.The agency says the recovered illicit drugs weighed a combined 7.5 kilograms, and investigations are ongoing.
