The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has denied reports linking its officers to the shooting of Umar Aliyu, popularly known as “Black Warrior”, in Kaduna State.

The agency, in a clarification on the incident, said the shooting was reportedly carried out by an officer of a sister security agency during an operation in the state.

It described claims circulating on social media attributing the incident to NDLEA operatives as misleading, insisting that the incident did not involve a confrontation between the deceased and an NDLEA officer.

The agency urged members of the public, particularly social media users and content creators, to verify information before sharing allegations that could misinform the public.

It also warned against the spread of unverified claims capable of creating unnecessary tension and undermining relationships among sister security agencies.

The clarification follows the circulation of reports on social media linking the shooting of Aliyu to NDLEA personnel.
