The illicit consignment, packed in 8,287 nylon bags and valued at over ₦10.3 billion, was concealed in a container imported from Canada.
The seizure followed weeks of intelligence-led tracking by the NDLEA’s Maritime Intelligence Unit in collaboration with the Apapa Strategic Command before the container was subjected to a joint inspection with the Nigeria Customs Service and other security agencies.
In a separate operation, NDLEA officers also foiled an attempt to export 2.5 kilograms of skunk hidden inside a gas compressor bound for Cyprus through a Lagos courier company.
The agency says it remains committed to disrupting international drug trafficking networks while sustaining its nationwide campaign against drug abuse.
