The Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), says Nigeria’s security and national outlook are improving under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Minister stated this on Thursday in Abuja while speaking with journalists shortly after the commissioning of the annex branch of Haam Legal Consult Services.
General Musa explains that President Tinubu has continued to provide strong support for the Armed Forces of Nigeria, thereby enhancing the military’s capacity to tackle insecurity across the country.
He also disclosed that the Nigerian military is collaborating with the United States and other partner nations in addressing security challenges.
The Defence Minister assured Nigerians that the Armed Forces remain committed to protecting lives and property and are working tirelessly to improve security nationwide.
He urged citizens to support security agencies by remaining vigilant and reporting suspicious activities, stressing that national security is a collective responsibility.
According to him, criminal elements continue to operate in some communities because of support from individuals who aid and protect them.
“If all Nigerians decide today that there will be no more support for criminals, I can assure you that within one month, these security challenges would largely become things of the past,” he said.
Speaking on leadership and governance, General Musa emphasized the need for credible and visionary leaders committed to national development.
He urged Nigerians to participate actively in politics and support leaders focused on nation-building rather than ethnic or religious sentiments.
The Minister also advised against vote-selling, warning that it could undermine the country’s future.
On the newly commissioned law firm, General Musa commended the initiative of young legal practitioners, particularly Barrister Aliyu Anas, Special Assistant to the Minister of Defence, for contributing to justice and legal service delivery.
He stressed the importance of law, justice, and respect for human rights in nation-building, noting that no society can thrive without adherence to the rule of law.
Earlier, the Head of Chambers, Abdulsalam Ibrahim, thanked the Defence Minister and his entourage for attending the event.
He said the firm would continue to provide legal services with fairness and professionalism in line with the ethics of the legal profession.
