Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has briefed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on major reforms in the country’s power sector and may be heading out of office soon.
At a high-level meeting in Abuja, Adelabu highlighted progress in electricity generation, transmission upgrades, and ongoing reforms aimed at improving power supply nationwide.
A key highlight was the presentation of a long-term electricity roadmap designed to boost energy access, strengthen the grid, and drive sustainable development.
President Tinubu commended the Minister’s efforts and also gave him the green light to pursue his governorship ambition in Oyo State.
With that approval, Adelabu is now expected to step down in the coming days.
Before leaving, he is working to tackle lingering challenges, including recent drops in power generation linked to gas supply issues.
