The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded another operational success in the fight against terrorism, destroying a terrorist enclave and neutralising several fighters during precision airstrikes in Borno State.

The strikes, carried out on Friday, July 10, by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, targeted a terrorist hideout at Yaganari in the Gezuwa general area following credible intelligence indicating renewed terrorist activities and the concentration of fighters in the location.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before the targets were engaged in a series of precision airstrikes.

The operation destroyed key terrorist infrastructure and neutralised several insurgents, further degrading the group’s ability to regroup and launch attacks.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended the personnel involved for their professionalism and reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to sustaining relentless offensive operations against terrorist groups across the country.

“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge. We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities,” he said.

The Air Chief added that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain focused on consolidating the gains recorded in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign through sustained air and ground operations.
