Residents of Kano, Jigawa and Katsina states should expect a temporary power outage on Sunday, June 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.The Nigerian Independent System Operator, NISO, says the planned outage is to allow the Transmission Company of Nigeria to carry out essential maintenance at the 330-kilovolt Kumbotso Substation.
According to NISO, the maintenance is part of efforts to strengthen the national grid, increase transmission capacity and improve electricity supply across the affected states and the country.Electricity supply will be temporarily interrupted during the four-hour maintenance period.NISO has apologised for the inconvenience and appealed to residents for their patience, understanding and cooperation while the upgrade is being carried out.
