Troops of Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, have arrested five suspected kidnappers and recovered weapons during a targeted operation in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation, which was carried out based on credible intelligence, targeted a known criminal corridor believed to be used by members of a kidnapping syndicate operating within the area.
According to military sources, the troops successfully apprehended five suspects allegedly involved in kidnapping and other criminal activities that have posed a threat to residents of communities in parts of Borno State.
Items recovered during the operation include two AK-47 rifles, magazines, and ammunition.
The military says the seizure has significantly disrupted the operational capability of the criminal group and prevented the weapons from being used in further acts of violence.
The suspects are currently in military custody and are assisting investigators with efforts to identify and apprehend other members of the syndicate, as well as dismantle its support network.
The latest operation underscores the sustained efforts of Operation HADIN KAI in combating terrorism, kidnapping, and other forms of criminality across Nigeria’s North-East region.
Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to protecting lives and property, stating that troops will continue aggressive operations aimed at ensuring lasting peace, security, and stability in the region.
The operation forms part of ongoing security efforts to deny criminal elements freedom of movement and strengthen safety in affected communities across Borno State.
